Pahadiya Maize — Traditional Mountain Corn (Mixed Colour Grain)
HS Code: 10059000 (Maize – Other than Seed & Sweet Corn)
This maize is an indigenous multi-shaded
variety grown on the hill slopes of the Raj
Mahal region by the Pahariya community. The
crop matures slowly amongst diverse native
vegetation, resulting in strong, flavour-dense
kernels in natural tones of yellow, red and
cream. Community production typically falls in
the range of 2,000 to 10,000 kilograms per
annum, varying with seasonal rainfall. The
grain is grown without chemical intervention
and sun-dried after harvest to preserve
structural integrity and quality. It is suitable
for multiple food industry applications
including boiling, roasting, flour milling,
cornmeal production, snack manufacturing
and artisanal heritage food preparation. Under
cool, dry storage conditions, the product
maintains quality for 9 to 12 months. It offers
slow-release energy, dietary fibre and antioxidant value, making it a strong fit
for natural, wholesome and functional nutrition portfolios. Available Quantity is 10000 Kg |
